چکیده

We report on the two-dimensional (2D) dynamics of a levitated nanoparticle in an optical cavity. The motion nanosphere is strongly coupled to cavity field by coherent scattering and heavily cooled plane orthogonal tweezer axis. Due characteristics 2D strong optomechanical coupling, motional sideband asymmetry that reveals quantum nature not limited mere scale factors between Stokes anti-Stokes peaks, as customary optomechanics, but assumes peculiar spectral dependence. introduce discuss effective thermal occupancy quantifies how close system minimum uncertainty state allows us consistently characterize particle motion. By rotating polarization angle beam we tune from one-dimensional (1D) cooling regime, where achieve best 0.51 $\pm$ 0.05, regime which fully exhibits non-classical properties. confinement with 3.4 0.4 along warmest direction around unity one. These results represents major improvement respect previous experiments both considering 1D motion, pave way towards preparation tripartite entangled states novel applications directional force displacement sensing.

Mechanical behaviour of motion for the two-dimensional monolayer system‎

‎In this paper we study the dynamics of the 2D-motion of a particle of monolayer‎. First we consider the usual physical time component and the plan manifold R2, having the polar coordinates. Then a geometric approach to nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems is applied to a problem from the two dimensional geometric dynamics of the Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer‎. We consider a constraint sub...

Cavity opto-mechanics using an optically levitated nanosphere.

Recently, remarkable advances have been made in coupling a number of high-Q modes of nano-mechanical systems to high-finesse optical cavities, with the goal of reaching regimes in which quantum behavior can be observed and leveraged toward new applications. To reach this regime, the coupling between these systems and their thermal environments must be minimized. Here we propose a novel approach...

Tunable two dimensional protein patterns through self-assembly nanosphere template.

By the aim of constructing surfaces for multi-component and multifunctional bioassay, a microsphere lithography technique was employed to control the surface morphology. Two kinds of protein molecules (antibodies) were used as building blocks. As a result, dual-component biocompatible surfaces with alternate immunoglobulin micropatterns were fabricated. The employed antibodies included human Im...

Nanoscale temperature measurements using non-equilibrium Brownian dynamics of a levitated nanosphere.

Einstein realized that the fluctuations of a Brownian particle can be used to ascertain the properties of its environment. A large number of experiments have since exploited the Brownian motion of colloidal particles for studies of dissipative processes, providing insight into soft matter physics and leading to applications from energy harvesting to medical imaging. Here, we use heated opticall...
